The world is speeding ahead at Lipscomb University, who wanted to share the exciting news with their friends and alumni. DVL created a campaign to showcase the innovations happening at Lipscomb in an interesting way.

The result was a series of ads called “Education Innovation.” Each captured the spirit of the university through the ongoing projects and programs. One touted the beneficence of the alumni and extended Lipscomb family for their generosity, which helped Lipscomb reach a donation goal a year ahead of schedule. Another spoke to Lipscomb’s desire to move toward sustainability, including a dedicated sustainability program as well as Tennessee’s very first LEED Gold certified academic building. The campaign went on to collect a bronze award for overall promotion at the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) 2010 Communication Awards competition.

DVL also created EducationInnovation.Lipscomb.edu. This site features each ad and other campaign information.

Since 2007, the Bridgestone Safety Scholars Contest has been providing an arena (and serious incentives) for young filmmakers to raise awareness of car safety. The short films are for teens and by teens—statistically the worst drivers.

DVL created SafetyScholars.com, a site where films are uploaded and then judged by the public. The top ten finalists receive a free set of Bridgestone or Firestone tires, and the top three grand-prize winners receive a $5,000 college scholarship.

This year, the Safety Scholars spokesman, Martin Scoresafety, shares his filmmaking talent with entrants by sharing tips on making better movies. The 2010 Safety Scholars Contest launched at the Chicago Auto Show in February.
